The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA will be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency claimed it is alarmed with regards to the substantial number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some substantial amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is due to the lack of infrastructure sassa at Fernie and there is no absolutely functional office focused on service the area daily.
